Traveller Tips for Kefalonia

Agia Efimia and Kefalonia Island offer a great variety of activities around the island from which we have identically selected the following:

Diving Center: In the village of Agia Efimia there is a diving school both for beginners and experienced divers.
Horse Riding: Near Sami (9 km from Agia Efimia) is the Bavarian Equestrian Center to welcome beginners and experienced horse riders.
Sports Facilities: Free access to many basketball, volleyball and football grounds.
Library: The Municipal library, with pleasant reading area and free internet access. 
Beach Xi: Not very close to Agia Efimia, but highly recommended for a visit. The beach has been awarder the blue flag and is located south of the town of Lixouri. This beach is famous for the red color of the sand. Apart from the water sports (jet ski, water ski, parachuting, etc.) the clue of the bathers is the free SPA.

The Pilaros Municipality taking advantage of the Natura 2000 program has created 3 walking routes - paths, to give the chance to the visitor to admire the beauty of the villages of the region as well as the unique nature of Kefalonia Island.

The village of Agia Efimia has a good number of restaurants and typical Greek taverns offering quality food and good service at relative attractive prices.

Also from the port of Agia Efimia there are regular day cruise departures to the island of Ithaca and other nearby Ionian islands.
